PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF A CIVIL PENALTY - $4,000 j
This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Notice of Proposed Imposition of a Civil Penalty in the amount of Four Thousand Dollars will be issued on or about May 7,1980, to Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Corpor-ation. This action is based on an alleged item of noncompliance relating to the delivery of a package of low specific activity radioactive material to a carrier for transport with a radiation dose rate exceeding 200 millirem per hour.
A news release has been prepared and will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Notices.
The State of Vermont will be informed.
It should be.noted that the licensee has not been specifically informed of the enforcement action.
