River Bend Station - Units 1 & 2 Refer to: RTI Docket Nos. 50 458/I&E Bulletin 79-28 50 h59/I&E Bulletin 79-28 In our letter of February 28, 1980 we informed you that the Namco Model EA 180 limit switch addressed in I&E Bulletin 79-28 was not specified for use at the River Bend Station. This response was based on the information available from a preliminary review of equipment specified. Later information provided by our Architect / Engineer indicates that some Namco Model EA 180 stem-mounted limit switches have been specified for Unit 1. However, none of the valves under these specifications have been released for fabrication and, thus, the production date of the Namco EA 180 switches r.snnot be deter =ined. In the event that the questioned Namco switc>es are used at Unit 1, the top gasket of the switches will be replacad in accordance with the recommendations of the ILE Bulletin 79-28. For future specifications, instruction will be given to the vendors to exclude the use of the subject limit switches. As stated in the February letter, our NSSS Vendor indicates that the subject Namco limit switches are not specified in its scope.
