Dear Mr. Chilk,

i I as writing to tell the ITRC that I do not want Public Service Indiana to re:ume censtruction of the safety related buildings at the Marble Hill Plant, i Madison, Indiana. It is beyond belief to us that I3C wculd even censif.2r 1 allowing FSI to cc plete construction and then operate a nuclear plant, i This cocipeny has been arrogantly, criminally irresponsible from the start.

i Citizens, not the ImC, discovered the construction debacle. I confess, we have no faith in PSI or the NRC. At this point, the plant is a financial

! disaster, the power is not needed in the Ohio Valley and we feel it is extremely unfair to the citizens of Kentuchy and Indiana to try to force us to acconacdata this unwonted nuclear installation in cur lives.

We are afraid of it, cf law lavel radiation contaminstion of cur air and water. iuclear power is experimental and wr. refuse. . to beg (rificial victims. The IiRC is asking us to breathe poiconed air and poa.soned f uater emitted from F.arble Hill. We say such e rcquest is a totalitarian imposition, i unacceptable to a free people.

There is an FBI investigation we want to kno.t about. Must we go to court again to lecrn the infor=ation we paid tan dollars for the GI to 3ather?

Region III has- said that a Gave Tne Valley chosen engineer wculd be pemitted to inspect the current construction repairs..How can Region III possibly reconnend resumption of construction before these two factors are known to the public?

I am a conservationist and occupied :3rble Hill in Cetober,1978 because I believa the plant is a direct threat to the flora and faana of the Chio i

4 River Valley. We re ect the esmultion that this area (including the en:tcrn ZentucPy coal fields is to be a " national sacrifice arec".

1 Surr.on your courage, please, and tell PSI that it must abanden Marble Eill.

"' hank you very much.

Dear Mr. Chilk:

' N !IU' I am corresponding concerning the hearing on May 7, 1980 on Marble Hill Nuclear Plant and Public Service Indiana.

I would like to respectfully request that Public Service Indiana not be given a constructs.on permit until the '

United States Federal Bureau of Investigation has completed its report and the rrport has been acted upon.

A further request would be that all construction be stopped until independent engineers be allowed to inspect the facilities. These inspections could be provided by Save the Valley, but I am sure any non-partisan firm of your selection would be acceptable.

As a resident of Jefferson County, Kentucky, I would like to voice my concern and reflect the uneasiness of resi-dents of my area about the continued construction at Marble .

Hill. l I believe the Nuclear Regulatory Commission holds a sacred trust, and that both morally and legally it is respon-sible for the ultimate safety of our citizens. I ask you to fully respect these obligations and place Marble Hill on hold until we can assure that all necessary safety factors have been addressed, Thank you for your consideration of this matter.

Sincerely.

Dear Mr. Chilk:

N'.s yvp dg-yF The Cumberland Chapter of the Sierra Club asks the following with respect to the Nuc' e Project under construction at Marble Hill, Indiana, by Public Service Indiana:

1. That the NRC not issue any permits to PSI until the FBI report is made public and acted upon.
2. And that construction on safety related areas not be restarted until engineers approved by Save the Valley inspect the plant.

The Cunberland Chapter feels that Public Service Indiana has not demonstrated competency in the construction of the Marble Hill facility and should not be allowed to continue construction at this time.

Sincerely, Cumberb C p+er N f' < v ',
