Dr. Bernard J.
Snyder Program Director Three Mile Island Program Office Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.
S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555
Dear Dr. Snyder:
I received your letter of April 21st and the report on " Environ-mental Assessment for Decontamination of the Three Mile Island Unit 2 Reactor Building Atmosphere".
I have no scientific background with which to base opinion on your report.
However, as Chairman of the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission for a ten-year term, I did acquire some knowledge about the energy situation.
I think that Three Mile Island Unit 1 should be back in operation as soon as possible, and that Unit 2 should be de-contaminated at the earliest possible date.
We need all of the energy possible from every source.
I appreciate receiving your report.
Sincerely yours, yy-v George Bloom GIB/d 90/7 s
