Gentlemen-Your letter (Reference 1), which was received on May 2,

1980, requested that you be informed of our intent to respond to your letter and to provide a schedule for the response.

We intend to respond in full to the review questions presented with Reference 1.

In most cases, due to the need for extensive research and consultation prompted by the questions, it is expected that response information will be submitted over a period of approx-imately six weeks.

Iten 1 - Identification and evaluation of structures and components critical to safe shutdoun, etc.

Response containing preliminary evaluation estimated to be completed and submitted by June 30, 1980.

Iten 2-Density and earth pressure coefficient of the soils of concern.

Initial response estimated to be submitted by May 16, 1980.

Response will contain several plots with an explanation of how blow counts as influenced by pile driving were predicted and measured for_the referenced project..

Construction records, logs and diaries are being researched for field data.

Item 4 - Basis for doneity increaseo.

Initial response estimated to be submitted by May 16, 1980.

Table of calculations to be provided.

Item 5 - N, and depth values.

Initial response estimated to be submitted by May 30, 1980.

Sub-mittal will include tables and plots.

Item 6 - Effect of an oiled rope.

Initial response estimated to be submitted by May 30, 1980.

Earlier submittal may be possible based on schedule of Professor Seed.

Item 7 - Basic for a lover SSE.

Initial response estimated to be submitted by June 6, 1980.
