  • OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER Mr. Henry Paul Deputy Director of Engineering John F. Kennedy Space Center National Aeronautics & Space Administration Kennedy Space Center, Florida 32899

Dear Henry:

I want to thank you and your staff for your many courtesies and help during our visit to the Kennedy Space Center on April 9' and 10.

I am sorry that I was not able to meet Mr. Clark but quite understand the demands that a program the size of yours puts on him.

Our discussions were certainly interesting and thought provoking. There are a good many of the techniques that you use there that are applicable in the nuclear field and we are thinking now how best to avail ourselves of them. We will'certainly do it in a way that does not detract from your efforts to carry out a truly monumental program.

Voss Moore, Rod Satterfield, and Dom Tondi join me in thanking you and your staff for a spectacular tour of the shuttle facilities and for our most useful discussions. We are particularly indebted to Don Page for arranging our meetings and for devoting so much of his time to us during our visit. We also wish to thank George Clark and Ron Grogan for their helpfulness during our tour of the facilities.

I hope you will convey our appreciation to them and to the other members of the KSC staff.

cerely, Joseph Hendrie Iommissioner
