Response to IE Bullet.in 79-01B

Dear Sir:

Yankee Atomic Electric Company is in the process of completing the responses to Reference (3) for the Maine Yankee and Vermont Yankee nuclear facilities. These responses require an extensive evaluation of environmental qualifications of Class IE electrical equipment. Due to the extensive in-house reviews required, as well as the delay of some information being supplied by our consultants, we are unable to complete these responses by the originally specified date. We will provide these responses by May 2, 1980.

We trust this information will be satisfactory.

Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact us.

Very truly yours, YANKEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY Robert H. Groce Senior Engineer - Licensing RLS/smw
