Background===
In accordance with the requirements of 10CFR 73.72 and Import License 1699, license condition five, Region II received notification by letter dated February 20, 1980, of a spent fuel shipment.
The licensee advised that two Goslar casks each with thirteen (13) irradiated fuel elements would be shipped by road from the Portsmouth Maine Terminal, Portsmouth, Virginia to the US Department of Energy, Savannah River Plant, Aiken, South Carolina.
