Dear Mr. Saltzman:

We have been advised by our insured, Power Authority of the State of New York, of a suit brought against them by Ralph E. and Karen ,

Dodge in State Supreme Court, Cayuga County, New York.

The suit alleges the following:

Count One:

Plaintiff, an employee of Crouse Co., a maintenance contractor, alleges he was exposed to and injured by radioactive iodine while working at PASNY Fitzpatrick nuclear power plant, on or about 3/23/79.

Action is based on strict liability and negligence due to improper handling of hazardous nuclear material and failure to warn.

Injury alleged involves disruption of thyroid function, increased risk of developing thyroid carcinoma and hyperthyroidism.

Damages claimed - $2,000,000.00 Count Two:

Involves wife's claim for loss of consortium and seeks recovery of $150,000.00 o\
