PROPOSED IMPOSITION OF A CIVIL PENALTY - $3,000 This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation and a Notice of Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars will be issued on or about April
, 1980, to Union Carbide Corporation.
This action is based on an alleged item of noncompliance relating to the delivery to a carrier of low specific activity radioactive materials with radiation dose rates above the levels in 00T regulations without providing specific instructions for maintenance of exclusive use shipping controls.
A news release has been prepcred and will be issued about the time the licensee receives the Notices.
The State of New York will be notified.
It should be noted t..at the licensee has not been specifically infem.ed af the enforcement action.
