REQUEST FOR LIMIT 8 SUBP0ENA AUTHORITY As directed by the Commission, IE,
'th OIA assistance, is continuing-its investigation at Three Mile Isla d.
We estimate that we will need to interview thirty to forty licensee \\ employees during this investigation.
On April 10, 1980, NRC investigators i'nterviewed se wn of the TMI operating staff.
Others, thereafter, refused to be interviewed unless they were subpoenaed.
Testimony from these individuals is essential to our investi-gation. Accordingly,_I request that the\\ Commission delegate to me the

DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO ISSUE SUBPOEflAS IN g
CONNECTION WITH INVESTIGATION OF TMI You are hereby delegated authority to issue subpoenas under Section 161c.
of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, to assist in the conduct of the investigation at Three Mile Island directed by my memorandum of-March 21,1980.
The above authority may not be redelegated and shall expire on June 10,1980.
l This delegation has been made pursuant to the vote taken during Affirmation Session on April-1980.
