The findings of our investigation on January 2-29, 1980, of events involving the transport and disposal of low specific activity radioactive waste from your facility, on or about December 10, 1979, revealed that your activities were not in full compliance with NRC regulations.
The item of noncompliance is described in Appendix A to this letter.
In view of the circumstances surrounding these events, we are proposing a civil penalty in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars for the item of noncompliance as set forth in Appendix A.
Appendix B to this letter is the Notice of Proposed Imposition of a Civil Penalty.
You-are required to respond to this letter, and in prepa~ing your response you should follow the instructions in Appendices A dnd B.
Your written reply to this letter, combined with our findings from our continu-ing inspection program, will be considered in determining whether any further enforcement action, such as modification, suspension or revocation of the license, is appropriate.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
