Region II - Suite 3100 RII: PTB 101 Marietta Street, NW 50-321/80-05 Atlanta, Georgia 30303 50-366/80-05 ATTENTION:

Mr. James P. O'Reilly, Director Gentlemen:

In response to Inspection Report Numbers 50-321/80-05 and 50-366/80-05, Georgia Power Company offers the following:

Item 80-05-01:

Contrary to Technical Specification Tables 4.1-1 (item 3) and 4.2-7 (item 2), IRM channels are not being functionally tested to assure operability of all alarms, trips and indications from the sensor to panel H11-P603 in the control room.

Response

Procedures HNP-1-3052 and HNP-2-3052, " Intermediate Pange Monitor Functional Test", were re-revised to comply sith the inspector's comments on February 22, 1980. The revised procedures were implemented on March 17, 1980.

Item 80-05-03:

Contrary to a commitment taade in LER 79-105, dated October 22, 1979, to revise the appropriate procedures regarding Average Planar Linear Heat Generation Rates, on January 31 1980, the committed changes had not 3

been performed.

Response

Procedure HNP-2-1053, " Main Turbine Auxiliaries Weekly Test", was revised and implemented on December 13, 1979. Conrusion on this point resulted from the fact that site personnel-contacted by the

~

inspector were unfamiliar with the revision. Because the procedure was revised within thirty days, it is our position that we were in compliance with the commitment made in LER 79-105 at the time of the inspection, and that no further action is necessary.,
