i REQUESTED P0 INT BEACH 1 TUBE SAMPLES FOR EXAMINATION AT BNL 1.

For tube 19-37. Westinghouse cut a longitudinal section about 1" long l

through the center of the uppermost defect observed in this tube, which apparently corresponds to the 58Y. ECT indication above the tubesheet i

observed in the field. This resulted in two, half-circumferential specimens.

If possible, we would like to obtain one of these sections.

I 2.

A portion of one of the other tubes in the area close to and slightly above the top of tubesheet.

3.

A portion of one of the tubes from within the tube-tubesheet crevice 1

where eddy current inspection identified a major defect. For example, a section of tube 26-53 from approximately four inches below the tubesheet surface to the surface would be satisfactory.
