In The Matter Of Consumers Power Company (Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Plant)
Docket No. 50-155 Gentlemen:
In its Brief entitled "Brief of Consumers Power Company On Need For Power Issue," Licensee stated at page 5, footnote 11, that the NRC had not yet decided whether to amend current NRC regulations to adopt the CEQ guidelines.
Please be advised that the NRC published such proposed regu-lations in the Federal Register for public comment on March 3, 1980 (45 Fed. Reg. 13739).
These proposed regula-tions adopt the notion that a discussion of alternatives should be considered within the ambit of an environmental assessment (see proposed S 51.30, 45 Fed. Reg. 13754).
The statement in the Brief that a full-term operat-ing license was issued for the Big Rock Point plant in 1962, is erroneous.
May 1, 1964 is the correct date.
