The White House has referred your recent letter to President Carter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for reply.
Metropolitan Edison Company's request to restart Unit 1 at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Station is the subject of a public hearing to develop a record on which the Commission can make a decision. That is not expected to come before the early part of 1981.
In the meantime, I am taking the liberty of forwarding your l
letter to our Docketing and Service Branch so that it can be included with the record of this proceeding.
