March 3, 1980 CFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER Mr. Harold P. Green Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Kampelman Suite 1000 600 New Hampshire Avenue, N. W.
Washington, D. C.
20037
Dear Hal:
How nice to have your yearly invitation to speak in September at the ALI-ABA course on Atomic Energy Licensing and Regulation.
It is good to know that some things remain constant and dependable in this uncertain world. And I admire your courage in offering a course in atomic energy licensing this year.
I hope some of my colleagues will take it.
Now, your course and the IAEA General Conference are, as always, on a collision course with regard to timing.
Since I am not sure whether I will go to the General Conference this year, put me down as a tentative yes, with thanks, to your invitation (September 24th preferred).
I will put the date on my calendar and will let you know if the plans change.
However, since tentative speakers are like birds in the bush, and you may prefer one in the hand, you might want to get someone else for the luncheon speaker and stick me in ad hoc among the other lecturers on the 24th.
That way I would do less violence to your program if I go to Vienna.
Your choice--I would be pleased with either arrangement.
K1 d regards,
.M k
