This refers to your letter of December 28, 1979, for which a $1,400 safety and environmental fee was paid for an amendment to License Suit-639 concerning uraniun recovery fron waste products.
Your request has been additionally classified by our safeguards Licensing staff as requiring a safeguards amendment, since the request will involve a review of your accountability controls and measurement methods. A safeguards anendment fee of $2,800 is, therefore, required as specified in fee Category 1G of Section 170.31 of Part 170, copy enclosed. Payment should be nade to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and mailed to my attention.
Please note Footnotes 1(d) and 4 of Section 170.31, which provide that upon completion of the licensing review, the Commission will review its expendituras for professional manpower and appropriate support services; recompute the amendment fea, and, if necessary, refund any overcharges.
