Subject:
Request for additional Information for Bypass and Reset of ESF For Vermont Yankee
Dear Sir:
Reference (2) requested that we review all the Engineered Safety Features (ESF) at Vermont Yankee to determine whether or not we met the criteria given in that Reference. In addition, we were required to submit a large amount of descriptive information regarding the ESF. All this was requested within thirty days of our receipt of Reference (2).
Reference (3) requested a review of all ESF at Vermont regarding reset controls; this is also a portion of the review required by Reference (2).
Reference (3) required a response within ninety days.
In view of the large amount of information requested in Reference (2),
the duplication of requirements between References (2) and (3), and the conflict of schedules (thirty vs. ninety days) we are unable to provide the information requested in Reference (2) in the time allowed. However, we will submit the information requested by May 13, 1980.
We trust the information provided above is acceptable, however, should you have any questions, please contact us.
l Very truly yours, i
