License No. SNM-33 Route 21-A Hematite, Missouri 63047 The following quantities of low-enriched uranium were released to unrestricted areas during the period July through Decenber 1979:
Liquid (l) 3.88 X 10-Curies (8.7 X 107 liters)
Gaseous (2) 1.31 X 10~
Curies (4.3 X 109 ft.3)
The following quantity of fluoride was released during the period July thmugh December 1979:
Fl uoride( 3) 8.36 X 10 3 pounds Fluoride concentrations in vegetation samples ranged from 8 to 56 ppm.
(1) Measured at discharge of site pond to fonn site creek.
Includes naturally occurring alpha-emitters present in the water.
(2) Particulate uranium compounds measured by continuous exhaust stack sampling.
(3) Measured by continuous stack ! ampling in compliance with Condition 19 to SNM-33, dated March 31, 1977. Projected total annual release (environmental impact information) was 1.35 X 10'+ pounds, based on a 5-year annual average.
Releases for 1979 totaled 1.40 X 10'+ pounds. This 41 variance does not significantly affect site boundary concentrations.
