Dear Sir:

I an in favor of the return to service of the unit at Three Pile Island.

From all the information available to me I am convinced that the bhe officers, techticianc and other employ aes are competent and sincerely dedicated to providing the public with the best e

possible service.

l Three rile Island was constantly checked for safety hazards in accordance with existing safety regulations abd the best i

scientific advice.

The president's Commission's concern about the health hazards of the accident is justified, but their conclusion that " the radioactivity released during the accident was so small that there will be no detectable additional cases of cancer, developmental abnormalitiec or genetic ill-health as a concequence" satisfies me that we have nothing to fear from operation of the i

unit.

]

For these reasons I favor the reurn to' service of the TVI unit.-

bincerelywkid Donald P. Smith
