JUL 2 1979 Note to Group 1 File RES REVIEW 0F VENDOR R & D In a telephone discussion with Gary Bennett, Chief, Research Support Branch, he indicated the primary purpose of reviewing Vendor R & D was to ensure that RES was not duplicating their research activities. The meetings at the vendors' facilities are well represented by NRR. The discussions a re primarf1v related to licensing issues and vendor improvements to increase plant avail-ability on line.
RES prepares the meeting summaries which are widely distributed Dr. Bennett did not recall any follow-up activities by RES or any discussions on B&W R & D which was pertinent to TM -2 accident.
