i Reference 1 provided B&W recommendations for an RCP starting sequence to avoid Reactor Internals Vent Valve Movement. The customer should be advised tha* this is not a restriction for startup of the RCP's.

The recommended starting sequence should be observed when possible to minimize vent valve movement. However, other sequences may be used when deemed necessary.

Reference 2 provided B&W recommended time limits on operation of. 2, 3, and a RCP O

combinations because of the BPRA/0RA wear problem. Since the P"RA/ ORA wear O

problem has been resolved at TMI-II, the recommended time lit

'or operation of 2, 3, and 4 RCP combinations are rescinded. There are no,utrictions to operation of RCP's because of the BPRA/0RA wear problem. Restrictions on RCP operation are as set forth in DP 1101.01 " Plant Limits and Precautions" including the changes made to this document via site instructions.

Please advise the customer of the above and contact me if there are any questions.
