Ro: November 5th Decision Centlemen:
?
I was appalled at your decision of November 5 to stop issuing construc-tion permit and operating licenses for nuclear power plants.
I feel like your decision was ill-advised and ill-timed.
You went against the presidential commission which investigated the Three-Mile Island acci-t dent who suggested that each nuclear unit be considered on its own merits.
In my opinion, you have been very reactionary, reacting to a minority of environmentalists and others who will eventually wreck this country financially and energy wise if listened to.
I Nuclear facilities could be helping to offset the oil we are losing be-cause of the Iranian shut-off.
At a time when our nation is trying to save our energy resourses, buying gas saving automobiles and traveling at a slower speed to conserve, you throw out the window our best answer' t
to the energy crisis.
Each reactor that you freeze deprives our nation of enough energy to power 300,000 automobiles. Why should we even try to save when you throw energy out the window as you are doing? Other.
nations, especially communist nations, are' laughing at us.
Please reconsider your decision.
Sincerely, L. Elray Wilson Vice President CC:
