Dear Director Denton:

I am distressed over the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's decision to stop issuing construction permits and oper-ating licenses for nuclear power plants.

Considering that our country is facing a great energy crisis, it would seem to make sense that we should encourage, in every way possible, the construction and use of nuclear facilities.

Everyone knows that there has never been a death or even a serious injury as a result of nuclear power.

So, wl.y the overkill?

If our great country had ever operated with this kind of conservative attitud, we would not be the great independent nation that we are today.
