January 8, 1970 To FILE T-h NUCLEAR POWER PLANT SIMULATOR gjpg On January 5 1970. Mr. John A. Salveoff visted the office to discuss the A
role of nuclear power plant simulators in operator trainint. ret ra inin6 and AEC examining programs.
I informed Mr. Salycoff that the only policy we have developed for NPPS was to accept their use as part of a training program to establish eli-gibility for cold examinations.
Mr. Salvcoff's primary interests centered about the possibilltv M' utilizing a NPPS for administering hot examinations in lieu of
- pulating the controls of the reactor.
I informed him that presently our practices requires manipulation of the controls of the reactor and that I could see no change in this practice in the immediate future.
However, I pointed out that as we gained experience with these si.ulatorr our practices could be modified. I furnished Mr. Salvcoff with a copy of " Operator Licensing and Nuclear Plant Simulators."
