S July 3, 1979 Note to George Frampton OUTSTANDING REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FROM MET ED Pursuant to Mr. Rogovin's memo of July 2, I am informing you of a request for information from GPU/ Met Ed which is unanswered more than two weeks after its initial request.

I On June 8, I called Fox Trowbridge by telephone-and requested that he provide me with certain information regarding the allegations that TMI-2 was rushed into commercial operation.

He said he was assembling information on that subject for the President's Commission and would make certain portions of that available to this inquiry.

I agreed on the understanding that we could get additional information if the first material Trowbridge sent us seemed relevant. Trowbridge said it was taking some time to assemble the information and I told him I would call at a later date.

When Mr. Rogovin met with Task Group 1 on June 19 the issue of commercial operation was again raised.

Immediately following that meeting I called Trowbridge to check on the status of the material he had earlier promised.

He said it was assembled but he had not seen it.

I asked him to provide it to us as soon as possible.

He said he was concerned about duplication of effort between the President's Commission and this inquiry and was not anxious to reproduce all of the former's requested material.

I instructed him to send what he had previously offered and we would request what additional material we needed.

To this date (July 3) I have not received any material from Mr. Trowbridge.

While I would be interested in the information we originally requested, I now believe we should see all material which Met Ed/GPU is producing for the President's Comission.

I would recommend a subpoena for "all material on the issue of rush to commercial operation made available to the President's Commission" if the information is not received in the near future.

l 1/The instruction in the July 2 memo that such telephone communication be followed by a written request was, of course, not yet in effect.
