Marvin I.' Lewis 6504 3radford Terrace Phila. PA 19149 8-2-79.
Senator Schweiker
Dear Senator:
Thank you for the quick action which you did on the 4000 gallon unannounced dump of radioactive water at Three 'j41e Island.
t However, the important questions ate still not answered.
The questions are 215 CU 9'5944 1.
Uan we stop future dumping 9
- 2. ' Since the dirtiest water from a wash is t9iM water out, how can the testing of the remaining water estimate any other than the minimun contamination id of the 4000 gallons already out?
3.
P
'ose health effects (defined as premature deaths of
..angs by the NRC)*can we expect from this 4000 gallon dumpt 4.
How can we get responsible and responsive people in tha.
regulatory bodies? Examples: Chman Eendrie objections to the
~'
1st Amendment reported in the Press and fueleonios Teek. Iarl Abraham af the NRC Iing &f Prussia office of 3RC repeatedly telling me that NET ED will not dump.( *ty letter on {
vater dumping to Jimmy Carter on 6-27-79.)
5.
The latest figure for tne contaminated water in Three V,ile Island j
- 2 is 200 rems pre hour add 800,000 gallons. It will have to he dumped soon. At 8 feet, thre are electrical penetrations whiah should not be Ilooded. That is an emergency dtuation.
The water is over 7 feet and increasing 1/2 inch per week.
We are only a few seeks from an emergency situaiion where Yet Id muet be give th go ahead to dumpf l
HILP!
