Dear sirs:

de, the undersigned members of Priority, the environmental action group of Millersville State College, are writing to urge you to conduct a full-scale environmental impact study on the use of the EPICCR II system for the decontamination of the radioactive water at the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant.

We feel that the preparation of an environmental impact statement would more fully assess the possible effects use of such a system might hava on the environment.

In addition, we feel that very serious :hought should be given to the interpreta-tion of the word "significant"; what was once considered an acceptable dose of radiation now far exceeds the maximum allowable exposure.

Though much is known about nuclear power and the effects of radiation on biological and ecological systems, it is true for all areas of research in science that much more is not yet known.

The environmental assessment on the use of EPICCR II states in section 2.1 ".

.the contaminated water can be positively controlled for an indefinite period."

If this is true, we see no reason for not taking the time to complete an in-depth environ-mental impact statement.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,

}. WMES O
