RADI0 ACTIVE CONTAMINATION OF AN EMPLOYEE On August 20, 1979, an individual contaminated his trouser knees wnile working on a cump in the Cap-Gun 1 liquid radwaste processing system and subsequently wore the trouser home.

The contamination, about 30,000 dpm, was not detected until August 21, 1979 when the individual surveyed himself at the Cap-Gun 2 f acility.

The individual had surveyed himself before leaving the site on A u _:Ust 20th; however, the licensee stated that the survsy meter usec was de'e:tive due to a faulty cable.

On Augtst 21st the licensee surveyec tne inci.icuals's wife, apartment, clothing, and car; no contamination was f ound.

'ne incivicual's trousers were laundered at the TMI cecontamination facility, ar: :ne contamination was removed.

Ine licensee determined that 11 other incividuals exited through the same c:. oi acint using the defective survey meter.

Tne licensee will determine if anj of these personnel were contaminated.

This oetermination will be revieoed b;.
