During

recent telecons with Mr. G. B. Zwetzig of your staff, it was indicated that unless design details were specifically required as indicated by the asterisk, Met-Ed was not to subnit designs for approval. Rather, the acceptability of
[
unmarked fire protection modification desis;ns shall be determined by Met-Ed's Fire Protection Engineer. Therefore, contrary to our letter of October 5, 1978 (GQL 1593), the design of hose stations to be installed at various locations in the plant will not be submitted for NRC approval on February 16, 1979, since FPSER Item 3.1.2, Manual Hose Stations,does not bear an asterisk.
However, Met-Ed may from time to time submit designs for unmarked items for your information.
