Dear Mt. Eeppler Toledo Edison has prepared a response to your IE Bulletin 80-08 con-cerning containment liner penetration welds. All Davis-Besse Nuclear power station Unit fI a ontainment penetrations were reviewed for weld type and joint configuration. Attached is a listing of all penetrations which IW into your state,d category of having containment boundary butt welds between the penetration sleeve and process piping as illustrated in the ASME S&PV Code Sectior.111. Figure NE 1120-1. This list identifies 6

the penatration number, the flued head size and material, the penetration sleeve size and noterial, and the results of the construction monde-structive esamination. In addition, please note the following:

't 1)

The applicable ASME Code is 1971 (no addendum).

2)

The type of nondestructive examination performed during con-struction was radiography.

3)

The type of weld joint was butt - no backing bara were used.

This completes Toledo Edison's response to IE Bulletin 80-08.
