PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION Date: July 9,1980 PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--PNS-I-80-18 This oreliminary notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSISLQ national security or public interest significance.
The information present d is as initially received without veritication or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

Subject:
BOMB THREAT On July 9,1980 at approximately 2:50 A.fl., the licensee received a call at their switchboard from an unidentified male caller stating, "Your power plant will be blown up at 4:00 A.M."
The caller immediately hung up.
The licensee stated that they conducted a full scale search of Unit 1 and 2 with necative results.
The media interest is anticipated.
No oress release is planned by the licensee or by the NRC at this time.
The licensee notified local, state and federal enforcement authorities.
IAT has been advised.
The Comonwealth of Pennnsylvania will be advised.
This preliminary notification is issued for information and no further action by IE is anticipated.
NRC Region I (Philadelphia) received notification of this occurrence frcm the licensee to the HD0 on July 9, 1980, at 3:55 A.fl.
