Background
PG&E is licensed under NRC Materials License No. SNM-1667 for the storage of fuel and accessories for eventual use in the Diablo Canyon, Unit 2, reactor facility..By application dated June 25,1980, PG&E has requested an extension of the expiration date to December 31, 1980.
Discussion The extension of the expiration date is needed because of additional time required to complete the remainder of the NRC facility licensing process.
An extension of the expiration date does not alter the radiological, nuclear safety, or other parameters on which was based the issuance of the license.
Recommendation I recommend that a license extension to December 31, 1980, be granted.
