Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit I (TMI-1)

Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 IE Bulletin No. 80-08 In response to the subject IE Bulletin, TMI-I containment penetrations are not either flued head design or other designs illustrated in Figure NE 1120-1, Winter 1975 Addenda to the 1974 and later editions of the ASME B&PV Code.

TMI-I containment penetrations were shop fabricated, examined and pressure tested prior to shipment to the site for installation. The containment pene-tration boundary welds are described as Category C, corner groove welds per Paragraph N-461,Section III, 1968 Edition. Corner groove welds were not considered radiographable. Weld acceptance was by surface examination in accord-ance with subparagraph N-1350(b),Section III.

The penetration m7 dales are Nuclear Class B Vessels accepted by pressure testing.
