SUBJECT:

I&E Bulletin 80-10

Dear Sir:

In response to the I&E Bulletin No. 80-10 dated May 6,1980, a review of the various non-radioactive systems was conducted.

This review considered improper valve line-ups, leaking valves, tube failures, differential pressure changes, and a primary to secondary leak at points of contacts between the radioactive and non-radioactive phases of the plant.

In addition, a review was conducted on the various re-lease points from the site which are considered as non-radioactive.

As a result of this review, additional surveillance of non-radioactive systems shall be implemented. The intensity of this surveillance shall be in proportion to the probability of.that system becoming contaminated.

In addition, the surveillance of the unmonitored release points is con-sidered acceptable and thus detection of leakage from a contaminated' "non-radioactive" system would be detected by our present surveillance program.

Sincerely, l

/
