Mr. J. T. Collins, Deputy Director U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission c/o Three } tile Island Nuclear Station Middletown, Pennsylvania 17057

Dear Sir:

Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit II (TMI-2)

Operating License DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Processed Water Management This letter forwards the TMI-II Water Processing and Processed Water Disposition Plan for 1980 (Rev. 2) and 1981 (Rev. 1).

This is a supplementary report to the one issued January 30, 1980, (transitted to you in TLL 036, January 30, 1980),

and is submitted as indicated in TLL 214, dated May 9, 1980.

OVERVIEW OF PLAN Processing of the Auxiliary and Fuel Handling Building Waste Water has proceeded with a minimum of delay. As of May 31, 1980, the EPICOR II system had processed approximately 331,000 gallons of intermediate activity water from the Auxiliary Building. There remains approximately 93,000 gallons in the Fuel Pool Waste Storage System. In addition, there are 48,000 gallons in various tanks in the Auxiliary Building.

Processed or clean water is being stored in the Unit II Borated Water Storage Tank (BWST), EPICOR II System Tankage and the Condensate Storage Tank.

In addi-tion, processed water has been and will continue to be used for decontamination, system flushing, and other purposes in order to minimize total water inventory.

The 1981 schedule provides a preliminary plan for activities in 1981. The assumptions used to generate this schedule are numerous and subject to wide variations. This accounts for the lack of detail in the 1981 plan. A detailed list of these assumptions is available should you desire to review them.

V Sincerely, 4y [ (
