(" Licensing Board") issued an Order extending the period for settlement discussions to July 14, 1980.

In addition, the Li-cen; j Board denied the Department of Justice's (" Department" or "D0J") May 21, 1980 Motion to establish a trial date, On June 16, 1980, the Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board (" Appeal Board") filed an Order concurring in the Licen-sing Board's decision to extend the period for settlement dis-cussions and to defer sett21g of a trial date.

The Orders of the Licensing Board and the Appeal Board encouraged the parties to use the additional time to explore settlement possibilities and instructed the parties to file supplemental Settlement Status Reports on July 11, 1980.
