Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-416/417 File 0260/15525/15526 PRD-80/32 Interim Report //1, Standby Service Water System Design Deficiency AECM-80/153 On June 13, 1980, Mississippi Power & Light Company notifiec Mr. F. Cantrell of your office concerning a Potentially Reportable Deficiency (PRD) at the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) construc-tion site. The deficiency concerns debris in the Standby Service Water (SSW) basin being picked up by the pumps and transferred into the system.

We have since determined this condition to be reportable within the meaning of 10CFR50.55(e). Specific corrective action remains to be determined. Details are described in the attached interim report. We expect to submit a final report by October 20, 1980.
