Dear Mr. Varon:
This is'in response to your letter dated June 3,1980, in which you appealed Mr. J. M.'.Felton's May 5,1980 response to your Freedom of Informatiord Act request of April 14,1980.
That request sought copies-of all records, documents, materials. -or other information in the possession of the NRC concerning the Abalone Alliance and any information regarding the August 4,1977 memorandum to the Deputy Attorney General et al from.

SUBJECT:
Proposed Demonstrations by Clamshell Alliance and Abalone Alliance at San Onofre.
In response ~ to your appeal we have again checked with the NRC offices which would have received a copy of the August 4,1977 memorandum.
This included the NRC Division of Security and the Information Assessment Team.
Each office searched their files and reported that they had no records, documents or materials in their possession concerning the i
August 4 -1977 memorandum.
Furthermore, these offices reported that they had no NRC or other government agency files, records or memoranda under the subject title of Abalone Alliance.
4 For your information, documents such as the August 4,1977 memorandum are filed chronologically by date of receipt and not by subject.

.Accordingly, for the reasons stated above and for the reasons stated in J
Mr. Felton's letter _ dated May 5,1980, the NRC has no further documents subject to your request.
