BABC0CK AND WILC0X TOPICAL REPORT BAW-10123, " NUCLEAR APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE PACKAGE" We have completed our review of the Babcock & Wilcox topical report BAW-10123 entitled " Nuclear Applications Software Package." This is one of a series of topical reports which describes the methods and techniques used to perform nuclear analysis for reactor cores.
Based upon our review, we conclude that this topical report is acceptable l
for referencing in licensing actions with respect to the description of the incore detector system for the 205 fuel assembly plants and for the description of the algorithms and techniques employed in the various calculations employing this system. A copy of the staff's evaluation of BAW-10123 is enclosed with this letter.
The staff does not intend to repeat its review of BAW-10123 when the report is referenced in specific license applications, except to assure that the report is applicable to the specific plant involved.
Should NRC criteria or regulations change, such that our conclusions as to the acceptability of the report may be invalida.ted, the Babcock & Wilcox Company and/or the referencing applicants will be expected to revise and re-submit the tdpical report and the referencing document or submit justification for the continued effective applicability of the topical report without re-vision.
In accordance with established procedure, it is requested that Babcock &
Wilcox issue a revised version of BAW-10123 to include any supplementary enformation provided for our review of the report, this acceptance letter, and the enclosed staff evaluation.
