June 30, 1980 Nuclear Regulatory Commission 1717 H Street Northwest Washington D.C. 20555

Dear Commissioners:

The Town of Salisbury had the following Article placed in the Warrant for the 1980 Annual Town Meeting held on May 13, 1980 on petition of Mr. Frank Kramer and others:

ARTICLE THIRTEEN "To see if the Town will vote to request the Selectmen to inform

'he Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that no operating license

- should be granted to Public Service Company of New Hampshire because there is no way to safely evacuate the surrounding area. Further that the Selectmen inform NRC that no Town funds will be spent on an evacuation plan for the Seabrook Nuclear Plant."

The Town Meeting voted unanimously to approve this Article. The Board of Selectmen hereby wishes to formally inform you of the position taken by the Town of Salisbury.

The Town of Salisbury, Massachusetts immediately abuts the Town of Seabrook, New Hampshire and is very concerned over the evacuation of its residents and guests resulting from any problem in relation to the Seabrook Nuclear Plant.

, Most respectfully, w .- i ,
