FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON 24626 IN REPLY REFER TO:

w.

June 12, 1980

~Mr.

Dennis M. Crutchfield Nuclear Regulatory Commission Division of Licensing Washington, D.

Dear Mr. Crutchfield:

I am replying to your request of May 30, 1980 to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for comments on the Draft Environ-mental Impact Statement for the Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit No.

1.

This Draft EIS has been reviewed by appropriate FERC staff components upon whose evaluation this response is based.

The staff concentrates its review of other agencies' environ-mental impact statements basically on those areas of the electric power, natural gas, and oil pipeline industries for which the Com-mission has jurisdiction by law, or where staff has special expertise in evaluating environmental impacts involved with the proposed action.

It does not appear that there would be any significant impacts in these areas of concern nor serious conflicts with this agency's responsibilities should this action be undertaken.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this statement.

Sincerely, h Jack M. H inemann Advisor on Environnental Quality O
