This refers to the meeting which was held in your Jackson, Michigan offices on May 5,1977. Those persons in attendance at the meeting are listed in an enclosure to this letter.
The subjects discussed at the meeting were details for imple-menting corrective actions described in our letter to you dated April 29, 1977, concerning tendon sheath placement errors identified by your contractor on April 19, 1977 and the need for Consumers Power Company to assure that the problems identified are not indicative of a broader problem with your overall QA program. In addition, we discussed our intentions to conduct a special inspection of your Quality Assurance Program implementation in the near future. Also discussed was recent NRC action relative to reorganization of IE Head-quarters Staff and changes in Inspection Report Format.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and the discussions contributed to a better understanding of our positions and Consumers Power Company's intentions regarding quality assurance program changes.
