Dear Mr. Giambusso:
In response to Mr. A. Schwencer's letter of March 7, 1973, concerning the engineered safeguards control circuits, we have reviewed all safety related circuits at the Arkansas fluclear One-Unit 1 facility. Consider-ation was given to all modes of test, operation, and failure, and it was found that racking-out of circuit breakers on engineered safeguards buses does not impair or interrupt operability of the remaining components.
The Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 1 Technical Specifications require that prior to initiating maintenance on any active components, the redundant components shall be tested or have been tested within 7 days to assure operability.
