Docket No. 50-312 Proposed Amendment No. 57 Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station Unit Number One Gentlemen:
By your letter of April 1, 1978, you requested that we submit to your of fice an amendment to our Technical Specifications concerning the Time Periods defined in Specification 1.9.
Find attached the Proposed Amendment No. 57 to the Rancho Seco Unit One Technical Specifications. The definitions have been copied from the Standard Technical Specifications for Babcock & Wilcox Pressurized Water Reactors NUREG-0103, Revision 1.
In addition to Section 1.9, Section 1.12 had"to be added to define the intervals for " Staggered Test Basis" which is required in Technical Specifications, Section 4.18, Fire Suppression-System Surveillance.
This Amendment should resolve and eliminate misinterpretations and clearly define the intent of surveillance test intervals.
The Code of Federal Regulations, Title 10, Part 170.22, Footnote 2 exempts this application from the fee schedule.
