By letters dated September 30, December 2, 1976, and June 16, 1977, to Mr. J. J. Matt imoe, you reques ted that Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station Unit I submit a proposed Technical Specification on fire protection.
Enclosed are forty (40) copies of Proposed Amendment No. 47, Rev. 1, modeled after your standard.
The standard was used to guide the scope and type of specifications according to the existing conditions at Rancho Seco.
The format was changed to adapt to the existing Technical Specifications but the wording has been retained from your standard. Whe re practical, the standard has been used and written into the proposed Technical Specification.
Requirements that would necessitate considerable design or change in operatina l
philosophy were not included in the proposed Technical Specification and will 1
wait resolution of our responses to NRC Branch Technical Position 9.5-1 submitted to you on August 31, 1976.
