Rosa, Section Leader, EI&CS Branen, TR During the course of our evaluation of Davis Besse Unit 1 (50-346) we had several meetings with the applicants archetectural engineers (Bechtel) for the purpose of expediting our drawing review. The drawings that have been presented on March 12, 1975 are too general in nature and point by point identification from actuating system to actuator for safety grade equipment is impossible. Drawing references.
are omitted and for the mst part contact designation for safety actuation contacts have not been identified in a clear and concise manner. Also, we have identified many instances where the drawings do not provide the current design requirements.
We therefore conclude that the drawings transmitted for our review on March 12, 1975 are not acceptable as a final design docunent since they do not contain current design requirements and do not provide sufficient detail to continue with our independent review. We will require that the applicant re-issue these drawings in their final form af ter they perform an audit assuring the infor :ation presented constitutes their final design, and contains the necessary cross references, functional description and logics, to facilitata our review.
Our drawing review will remain an open item on the SER (Due May 30,1975).
