As requested in your letter, dated September 22, 1977, concerning the Annual Operating Report, we are transmitting under separate cover three originals and forty copies of an Application for Amendment to License No. NPF-3 for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.

The Applica-tion,for Amendment includes changes to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1 Technical Specifications which delete the Annual Operating Report requirements but retain the requirement for an Annual Occupational Exposure Report.

Our Monthly Operating Report will be modified as requested in your September 22, 1977 letter to include the three current report formats, (Average Daily Unit Power Level, Operating Data Report, and Unit Shutdown aad Power Reduction) and a " Narrative Summary of Operating Experience" beginning with our monthly report for January, 1978. We will provide a narrative of operation experience for 1977 to cover the transition period and will review and supply any min ing data for the summary compilation which the NRC will transmit
