Dear Mr. Stolz:
On July 30, 1976, in Revision 20 to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1 FSAR, the Toledo Edison Company committed to make the low pressure injection and high pressure injection flow indication in the main control room an essential indication that will be seismically qualified and have essential power supplies.
Immediately thereafter, Toledo Edison ordered the necessary new flow transmitters, isolation devices and power supplies to make this change.
We have been recently notified by our vendo. that they will not be able to supply the properly qualified flow transmi:ters until July, 1977. We will install these new flow transmitters as soo.1 thereafter as is possible.
It is our plan that these flow transmitters can be installed while the unit is in operation and the low pressure injectiot. or the high pressure injection flow indication strings would only have to be out of service for a very short length of time (8 to 10 hours1.157407e-4 days <br />0.00278 hours <br />1.653439e-5 weeks <br />3.805e-6 months <br />) while the final connections were made to the indicators on the main control board.
In the interim the existing non-seismically qualified metering will be left in service.
